The name Tierra Suelta — meaning “loose soil” — honors the agricultural region in Eastern Cuba where the Abreu family’s farming roots first took hold. That connection to the land continues today through family-owned farmland in Homestead, Florida and generations of knowledge passed from one generation to the next.
Over the years, our company has evolved alongside the changing produce industry, expanding our capabilities while staying true to the values that shaped us. What began as a family farming operation has grown into a trusted tropical produce partner serving retailers across the United States and Canada.

At Tierra Suelta, quality starts long before produce reaches the shelf. Our vertically integrated operations give us full control across growing, packing, cooling, shipping and logistics — helping ensure exceptional freshness, consistency and flavor throughout the supply chain.
We harvest and pack six days a week inside temperature-controlled facilities designed to protect cold-chain integrity from the moment produce leaves the field. Our 20,000-square-foot Primus-certified warehouse in Florida pre-cools fruit within minutes of harvest to help extend shelf life, reduce shrink and maintain premium quality during transit.
To support year-round supply, we also operate a state-of-the-art packing facility in Ecuador and maintain strategic partnerships with growers who share our commitment to responsible farming and premium produce standards.
